From Data to Impact: Using Research, Technology, and Evidence to Shape Learning with Marte Blikstad-Balas:

by
Content Marketing Manager at Showbie Inc.

What does it actually take to move from data to better teaching?

In this episode of Voices in Education, Showbie's Director of Learning for the Nordics, Martin Bieber, speaks with Marte Blikstad-Balas, Associate Professor at the University of Oslo's Faculty of Educational Sciences, about her research into literacy, digitalisation, and evidence-informed practice.

They explore why so many schools struggle to use data meaningfully, the cultural shifts required to make digitalisation work in practice, and why pedagogical purpose has to come before any conversation about tools.

The conversation also touches on the challenges teachers face in evaluating their own practice, the limited tradition of systematic data use in schools, and what it genuinely takes to connect research to classroom improvement.
